Founded in 1977, M6 Theatre Company is recognised as one of Britain’s leading theatre companies specialising in creating and delivering accessible, high quality and relevant theatre experiences for young people.
The company is known for its highly acclaimed touring productions which visit regional, national and international venues and festivals.
M6’s Act Now! Outreach Programme engages young people from all social and cultural backgrounds in the borough of Rochdale. Creative arts projects are delivered in schools and a wide range of local community settings, offering participants a safe, creative environment to explore ideas about themselves and the world they live in.
Weekly youth theatre sessions for ages 8 to 18 take place at the M6 Studio Theatre. These groups give young people the chance to create and perform theatre with professional theatre makers, learn other skills such as film, dance and creative writing, gain confidence and make new friends.
The well-being of young people is at the heart of all M6’s work, as is the belief that powerful theatre can make positive change for everybody involved.
