With very apt timing, we at takepart would like to send our congratulations to Middleton Popstars who have just been awarded the Queens Award for volunteer services!
The award is for groups of people doing volunteering work that is of a social, economic or environmental service to the local community, and every year the Queen confers Awards to groups in recognition of their outstanding voluntary work. They have been described as “MBE’s for volunteer groups”.
Middleton Popstars were given the award for “Offering performance opportunities to young people with disadvantaged lives”.
Anne from Popstars said upon receiving the award “Thank you to all that sail in this ship for all your hard work especially the young people, who give their time to the community on so many occasions”.
Winners of the award receive a certificate signed by Her Majesty The Queen and a domed glass crystal. The local county Lord Lieutenant will present the certificate and the crystal.
