Rochdale Borough Dance Showcase!

2013 Creativity Moves Flyer

Following on from last year’s success of Dance Meets Sport, Spiral Dance and Oulder Hill Community School are working in partnership once again to deliver a dance platform in Rochdale. Last year was the first year that the school and charity joined forces, and they delivered a spectacular event in which twelve groups performed choreography created around an Olympic Theme. Following on from this success, they are presenting an evening of dance on the 24th March at Gracie Fields Theatre called CREATIVITY MOVES!
The showcase celebrates the diversity of dance by exhibiting a variety of dance styles and themes. It aims to include all ages and abilities to explore who can dance, why people dance and what dance is. This year fourteen groups from across the boroughs of Rochdale, Bury and Oldham, are coming together to present dances based around the theme creativity and colour. Spiral Dance have received some fantastic applications from dance groups of all ages, and the showcase sounds like it will make you smile and tap your toes along to the music.
Tickets can be purchased from the Gracie Fields Theatre Box Office: 01706 716689.

Creativity Moves!

Bury Youth Dance at last years ‘Dance Meets Sport’ showcase.

Spiral Dance are proud to announce that this years Rochdale Borough Dance Showcase will be hosted in partnership with Oulder Hill Community School at Gracie Fields Theatre on the 24th March 2013.

The showcase provides a platform to exhibit the variety of dance happening across the borough of Rochdale, within the community, education and private dance schools. We are also inviting applications from our neighbouring boroughs of Oldham and Bury.  The showcase celebrates the diversity of dance by exhibiting a variety of dance styles and themes.  The showcase aims to include all ages and abilities to explore who can dance, why people dance and what dance is.

This year the theme is fun, creativity and colour! We are asking for groups to be as creative as possible with their dance ideas using inspiration from a prop, story, picture or simply a wacky idea.

Forms are currently available for any local dance group that would like to apply to perform and the deadline is the 30th November 2012. The event is hugely popular so a panel of artists will pick a certain number of groups to perform in order to get a good mix of ages, dance styles and themes that will represent the variety of dance happening across the borough! Information and forms can be found here: http://spiraldance.co.uk/#/current-projects/4553304664
